ANNA CROWSON
Anna Crowson competed in NCFCA speech and debate for two short and very successful years. By nature not a debater, she quickly saw the value of gaining the skills of argumentation, critical thinking, and rhetoric to equip her to stand for the Truth. In her first year of competition, she won the regional championship in Team Policy Debate, and in the following season, she earned fourth place at the National Tournament in Lincoln-Douglas Value Debate.
Anna competed in two NCFCA National Tournaments in both styles of debate and four speech events. Her debate accomplishments include winning both Team Policy and Lincoln-Douglas Value Debate state and regional championships, placing fourth in Lincoln-Douglas Value Debate at Nationals in 2003, and earning a top speaker award at every tournament in which she competed. In speech, Anna is a two-time National Semifinalist in Extemporaneous, a five-time state and regional tournament champion in Impromptu, a National semifinalist in Open Interpretation and, at Nationals in 2002, Anna earned fifth place in Impromptu and sixth place in Original Oratory.
Anna was selected to be a member of the 2003-2004 Communicators for Christ touring internship team. Notably, while on tour, Anna co-developed the first ever CFC value debate track. In 2004-2005, Anna was the Value Debate Coach for CCWT/FOCUS in Memphis, TN. Having benefited tremendously from her experiences in NCFCA, Anna has authored a number of books for students and parent coaches, including: The Extemporaneous Handbook, LD Exercises and Drills, Value Debate Research: Parent/Coach Manual, Policy Debate Research: Parent/Coach Manual, and two debate research Student Workbooks - one for policy debaters and one for LD value debaters. From time to time, you'll find her judging debate and limited preparation speeches at tournaments across the nation. She judged at Nationals 2005 in San Diego, and plans to attend Nationals this year in Virginia as a book vendor and judge. Outside of speech and debate, Anna enjoys swing dancing, star-gazing, and singing in the rain.BOOKS BY ANNA CROWSON
