GOC is often referred to as "the nerve center of the FedEx
transportation system"
History: Current Client; 1997-2006; version 5 - 8 databases used to manage work schedules and FAA required training administration for multiple shifts, and disciplines, 24/7. "Control and Intelligence" allows employees to "swap, slide and do IOUs" with other employees without a manager having to approve changes in the schedule. Powerful, accessible reports organize, count and subtotal by employee, manager, shift, discipline, day, pay period and work code.
Result/Benefit of our Contributions to FedEx GOC:
- The database is an "intelligent system" with thousands of if statements making sure employee schedule changes are "ok" by internal policy and by FAA rules.
- The use of a securing window plug-in, control tables, advanced calculations and scripting, secures the environment so all movement is via button / hyperlinks upon logon. A change log documents usage.
- An email client is used to automatically notify managers and staff of select changes to the schedule.
- Many very sophisticated reports analyze the data set allowing staff and managers instant viewing and answers regarding work.
- Over the years, it was been added to continually. First designed for Domestic GOC with over a hundred employees, then International GOC and Crew Scheduling adopted it as well, with adjustments.
- Currently, partnering with FileMaker.com for software upgrades for GOC, we are converting and migrating v6 related files into v8 related tables and will be deploying FileMaker Pro Server 8 Advanced as the engine to offer new on-demand access via web publishing from "anywhere, anytime".
- Since 1997, we have been there year after year for support, as FileMaker Development is and will continue to be our primary focus.

History: Current Client; 2002-2008; version 5 - 9 databases used to manage value-added services of graphic design, structural design and lab testing projects. I was hired in 2002 to support a v5 database running in a client / fmp server environment. Since that time, it has evolved over the years adding in one to many relationships and converting v5 files to v9 related tables. We are nearing deployment of totally web based Project Management Solution using FMP Server 8 Advanced.
Result/Benefit of our Contributions to IP:
- A powerful multi-departmental completely web based Project Management Database.
- The use of an automated script activation plug-in, creates a level of intelligence that runs multiple queries every 5 minutes and acts upon the results including auto-emails, report sending, notices and alerts.
- Many very sophisticated interactive web based reports analyze the data set allowing staff and managers instant viewing and answers regarding work., including the comparison of two date ranges for two years, counts and total of hours and costs.
- The v8.5 web viewer is used to set and view digital documents referenced in an innovative digital library schema.
- Currently, partnering with FileMaker.com for software upgrades for IP, we are nearing roll out of a totally browser based project management solution driven by a powerful FileMaker Pro Server 8 Advanced engine.

History: Current Client; 2001-2006; version 6 clients connecting to fmp server 6 running on a City of Memphis Server. 1st hired to support misc. changes to an existing v4 flat file EMR, The Solutions Group, has asked by the new Director, Julie Coffey, to upgrade to v6, add server, a statistical front-end and set up VPN remote support.
Result/Benefit of our Contributions to MSARC:
- Statistical front-end for Electronic
Medical Records offers Control and Analysis.
- The Center has several funding sources (grants), and offer many services such as counseling and advocacy.
- Control tables and values were added and a front-end was added to control and capture all staff activities for the purpose of tracking clients (patients) and knowing what and how many services are being delivered, and to who (demographics).
- All "one to many" data relationships were identified and moved to related tables to achieve quick access to and counts of related records, such as session notes.
- An interactive finding / report
screen was added to make it easy to find information and
get counts.
- The Director and Managers, now press buttons to print out daily, weekly, quarterly, yearly or a custom date range report required by each funding source, that provides an extremely detailed statistical analysis, in most every way imaginable.
- VPN remote support always connection to City Servers to make changes remotely when needed; We work for five minutes and bill for five minutes.

Memphis based, TN based Fortune 100 corporation, International Paper, has engaged The Solutions Group to enhance a client server FileMaker Pro based Project Management Solution. The solution allows for user friendly input and tracking of project costs by remote users around the country connecting to FileMaker Server.
The Solutions Group adds PDA (Palm handhelds) capability to our EMR solution PatientFM. Using "text strings" on their FileMaker Mobile enabled Palms, doctors enter patient notes, diagnosis and charge codes, as well as, reference ePocrates, then each day "sync" with the host database; The sync prints notes for filing and returns to their Palms, a list of active patients (the census), their schedule and partially completed S.O.A.P notes for the days rounds. A Utah based legal services firm, has engaged The Solutions Group to create a database, based on development shells, to manage clients and cases which includes the printing of legal merge-form documents, as well as, a web case status component, for access by clients and account reps.
The Medical Practice of Dr. Henry DeGroot, III, M.D. F.A.A.O.S., Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, Clinical Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at The Univ. of Mass., Boston, MA has selected PatientFM by The Solutions Group as their EMR database. The database uses FileMaker Pro Server and voice recognition software in a client-server environment on a Windows 2000 server and is accessible via a HIPPA compliant encrypted VPN (Virtual Private Network) from remote locations; a second office, home and two wireless access points within a hospital.
